Art Technology Sketchup-Bench and Table due 3/7

  2. Bench

  3. Video
    1. Draw a rectangle that is 6′,2′.
    2. Pull up 4′.
    3. With the tape measure tool draw a line 2′ from the top edge.
    4. Then use the line tool to draw a solid line over the dotted line.
    5. Use the line tool to draw a dotted line 2 inches from the new line.
    6. Use the push pull tool to push back the top of the shape 22 inches.
  4. Video
    1. Use the tape measure tool to draw dotted line 2 inches away from each edge on both sides of the bench.
    2. Use the line tool to replace the dotted lines with solid lines.
    3. Use the push pull tool to push away completely the inner rectangle below the bench.

    1. Draw dotted lines using the tape measure tool 2 inches away from the left and then 2 inches from the right edge.
    2. Replace the dotted lines with solid lines using the line tool.
    3. Use the Push pull tool to push in and away the rectangle between the legs.
    4. Delete unnecessary pieces as shown.
    5. On the back of the bench draw the legs using the pencil tool and delete unnecessary pieces as shown.

    1. Use the line tool to draw lines from mid point to mid point to create the appearance  of separate boards as in a park bench.
    2. Select the entire bench and format with wood using the bucket tool.
  7. Save the bench as a 3d model. Then export as a 2d image.
  8. Post the image to your website.
  9. Post images of other objects you have created in both sketchup and sculptris.
  10. Table

  11. step 1
    1. Draw a circle on the floor with a radius of 2′.
    2. Raise 2.
    3. Draw a line from the midpoint across the table to the opposite side. Draw a second line to form a +.
    4. Draw a circle close on each line close to the edge 1 inch in radius.
  12. step 2
    1. Select the line within each circle and then delete it.
    2. Then pull up each circle 36 inches.
    3. Select the entire table, right click and select group.
    4. Turn the table completely around
  13. step 3
    1. Draw a square 20 by 20 inches.
    2. Pull it up 1 inch.
    3. Draw squares from each corner 1,1 inch.
    4. Select each square and pull it up 20 inches
    5. Select the chair and group it. Turn it around.
    6. Double click on the chair and draw a line from the 1 inch away from the edge.
    7. Pull up the new shape 20 inches
  14. step 4
    1. Select the chair and use the move tool with options to copy the chair. You should have 4 chairs.
    2. Place the chairs around the table.
    3. Select the table and all the chairs. Make it all one group.
    4. Format it with the bucket tool
  15. step 5
    1. Add your name using the 3d text tool
    2. Save as a 3d object.
    3. Zoom in and export as a 2d image.
    4. Publish to your site
