  1. Do Now: What happens when we pull with the grab tool? form
  2. Video
    1. Use the grab tool to pull the tube like shape out of the sphere.
    2. Then adjust the front by pushing in a cock pit.
  3. Video
    1. Draw only beginning of the wing with the draw tool. (Create a long bump that can be pulled out for the wing.)
    2. Use ctrl D to deselect the airplane. Now use the Mask tool to select the bump you drew.
    3. Now pull out the wing with the grab tool. Try to pull out and back to create the correct angle for the wing.

    3. Now pull out the top stabilizer and rudder.
    4. Select a nice metalic material.

Art Technology-Sculptris- 3d human face

  1. Do Now: How can we save a sculptris 3d object as an image? form
  2. Video
    1. Follow the model of a face drawing.
    2. Pull down from the center using the grab tool. Set the tool to a really large size as shown in the video.
    3. Use the grab tool to pull out the nose. Pull out nostrils from the side of the nose. Pull out the point of the nose a bit more.

    1. Push the nostrils up just a bit.
    2. Add eye brows and mouth using the draw tool.

    1. Pull out the cheeks a bit with the grab tool.
    2. Then from the back of the head pull out the neck a bit.
    3. Pull out the chin a little.
    4. Push up some of the material between the chin and neck.

    1. Use the grab tool to adjust the size of the head. You may need to push in around the sides and top to make the shape more realistic.
    2. Use the draw tool to add hair.

Art Technology- Sculptris- A simple 3d creature due 2/7

  1. Do Now:What tools in sculptris can we use to add some detail to our sculpture? form
  2.  See video
    1. Double click on the Sculptris icon. Point away from the digital ball clay, click and hold down your mouse. Now drag to see different sides of the ball. You can also spin the wheel of the mouse to zoom in and out.
    2. Now notice the line down the middle. This line is for symmetry. Anything you do on one side of the line will appear on the other side of the line. We’ll use this later to create legs.
    3. Now use the draw tool to pool right from the line. Remember you can change the size of the tool.
    4. Now switch to the grab tool to feel the difference. When you have pulled enough to create a head for your creature, go to the opposite side of the clay, again pull from the line to create a tail.
    5. Now pull from the sides of the creature to create legs. For every leg you pull on one side you see another appear on the opposite side.
    6. Time to save.

    3. Position your creature just right.
    4. Use the same tools as above to add details such as horns, ears, mouth and eyes.
    5. You can use the grab tool to push into the creature to create a mouth.
